It is Saturday and our day got off to a slow start as we slept in a bit. We had a few things to do on the building site so we could start decking the second floor on Monday. We quickly got the tasks done and went home for lunch.

After lunch we were treated to a day trip to visit a Buddhist Temple located an hour from here. It was long climb up over one mountain and through another.
I will post many pictures of today to help you see our great day out. We ended back in Chuncheon where we enjoyed Taki-bi ( Chicken and Ribs Korean Style). I hope the pictures show the taste...
 Looks like home.
Cabbage Harvest. Kimchee Cabbage is harvested later.
Rice drying on tarps along the road

Tunnel Entrance- Tunnel is 5 KM long

That van just wont go up the hill without Diesel

Our trip to the Buddhist Temple was very interesting. This temple was built in 993 AD.

It was a two KM hike up the mountain trail to the Temple area. However all the way along the trail there was things to see. Shops to make purchases and numerous eating places.

This eatery was in the creek bed.

Lanterns lined the temple ceiling. One can pay money to have your wish written on a lantern and then they will hang it there to receive the blessing.
 The Buddha

The children make these little Ninukshuk type characters along the pathway
The buildings are very artistic and detailed

Another Bell to signal the gathering of the monks.

Doreen sees a shop and is gone like the wind.
KyongJung snacking on a rice cake
Coming back to the city we see the sky lined with apartments
The Taki-Be Restaurant. Chuncheon is famous for their Taki-Be (Chicken and Ribs)rendition of a Mongolian type  BBQ. The frying pan is fastened in the middle of the table. The food is Chicken, cabbage, sweet potatoes, garlic, rice noodles, onions and maybe more things are loaded into the pan. Soon the food was starting to be ready to eat. The cook/ waiter says the noodles are ready so everyone digs into the pan. The vegies are cooked so they can be tasted. Then the meat is ready to be enjoyed. Aprons are worn by all sloppy eaters.

The cook comes around every few minutes and stirs the food.
 Doreen works those chop sticks.
A plate of cold noodles is added to top off the meal. Oh Yes and I almost forgot the first dish was cold turnip Kimchee served in ice water.

The END. only a few scraps left.
